Water reservoir


water is trapped here as storage and particulate will be screen out. External water supply is connected to replace the water lost through evaporation and other reason. And water will be pump out into biofilter. For current stage the design of water reservoir is same size as fish tank.

Biofilter Design


multilayer filter consist of cover, base and body. The design enable farmer to choose how big is the filter they need according to his farm scale. Each layer of the filter is connected by nuts and can be assemble into min 3 layers and max 8 layers.

1st : reservoir filter which consist of components that are stated in the picture above. When the water level is low, the external water supply will flow in; however when water level is high, the pump will work to pump out the water to biofilter.

2nd: the biofilter consist of multiple layers and filter media. So farmer can decide how many layer he wants for his farm. Water will be pump up to the filter.

3rd: the aquaponic is the second filtration, and give extra harvest to the farmer.

4th: the second biofilter is not necessary needed, it depends on the farmer’s need. It can be the same as the first biofilter. However, the water treatment station can replace the second biofilter as well.

5th: the water treatment station consist of UV light( to kill bacteria), Temp sensor ( with heater to control water temperature), DO sensor ( with oxygen supply to control DO level) and pH sensors (to check water pH). So that the water supply to fish tank is in very good condition.

6th: the tank consist of air pump which is a back-up system, auto-feeder, DO sensor and catch net.

Fish Tank design


this fish tank consists of three holes for fresh water to come in and used water to flow out. The hole at the bottom of the tank is used to dry off water for cleaning purpose. Current stage of the design enables the tank to store 3000 gallon water. The tank area is roughly as a car parking lot size and the tank height is about 1.5m.
Auto-feeder, DO sensor will be place at the site to control the water DO level and automatic feeding.
